A weekend for the whole Mob. Paddle together, learn a rescue skill and settle in for music by the campfire. Come for Saturday or stay all weekend.

Friday · October 16

4 - 6 PM
Check in at the marina store.
6 - 8 PM
Pumpkin carving contest. Ten first-come spots with pumpkins, tools and prizes provided.
8 - 10 PM
Group campfire. Bring an instrument if you play.

Saturday · October 17

7:30 - 8:30 AM
Free yoga with Amanda Hardwick. Bring a mat or towel.
10 AM - 2 PM
Free guided paddle with the Shore Thing team, M Lee Beebe and Matthew Townsend. Day visitors pay a $7 launch fee at the store.
3 PM
Kayak relay race with prizes. Bring a team of four and one kayak.
3:30 - 5:30 PM
Buddy rescue class with Stephen Barger. $10 cash, 20 places. Sign up for the class ↗
6 - 7 PM
BBQ dinner available by preorder until October 2. $25 per plate. Email carolinasplashmob@gmail.com to reserve your dinner.
7 - 10 PM
Live music and campfire with Blyme ↗.

Sunday · October 18

Check out. The schedule invites everyone to stay and paddle until sunset. Confirm afternoon access with the marina.

Embroidered Port Authority snapback hats are $30, one size fits all and available by preorder. Pick yours up at the festival or arrange a later meetup. Mailing costs extra.

Confirm distance, pace, launch and return plan. Ask about current, open water, equipment and any shuttle. Talk with the host before choosing a trip.

Get ready for the water

Wear a properly fitted life jacket. Check the forecast and water conditions, bring drinking water and keep communication equipment protected. Leave your plan with someone on shore.

Do I need my own kayak?

Ask your trip host what is available before signing up. A shared trip does not automatically include gear. Devils Fork lists an on-site rental provider for Lake Jocassee. Check availability and reserve directly.

How do I know if a trip is right for me?

Tell the host about your experience and equipment. Ask about distance, water conditions and the help available on the trip.
